I am a native Texan who returned home after growing up in a military family. I started my higher education at The University of Texas at Austin and earned my J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law.
Since completing law school, I have worked at the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, opened my own law practice, and served as a District Court Judge. As a prosecutor, I gave the silent victims of crime a voice in the courtroom. In private practice, I helped protect the Constitutional guarantees of those impacted by the criminal justice system. While a District Court Judge, I balanced the need to protect the community with the rights of the accused. Lastly, I co-founded and presided over a Felony Veteran’s Treatment Court. I cherish the opportunity to assist men and women who served our country.
I joined the 4th Court of Appeals in January 2021 after serving as a District Court Judge since 2009. I now sit on a Court with six other justices and offer a unique perspective due to my background in criminal law. I believe in equal access to justice and I pride myself in integrity and fairness while ruling impartially. Above all, I faithfully follow the Constitutions of the United States and Texas.
I appreciate your interest in my experiences. I humbly ask for your support so that I may continue to serve the people of this great state.
